What burnout looks like:

  • Each day begins with a seemingly never-ending to-do list, from work assignments to household chores and family obligations.

  • The mounting pressure from all fronts results in escalating stress levels, causing anxiety and mental fatigue.

  • You may feel that there is no time to focus on your physical and emotional needs while the needs of others seem to take precedence. This imbalance begins to manifest in ways that disrupt your health leading to sleepless nights, weakened immune system, and even chronic illness.

  • Your relationships begin to suffer from family and romantic partners to friends and colleagues. You may be finding yourself physically present but emotionally somewhere else, unable to fully engage in meaningful conversations and activities. No wonder there is an increase in arguments and a sense that no-one understands you.

  • Interests and activities that once brought you joy and fulfillment have become distant memories.

  • As you take on more and more, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep up with all the responsibilities, and you may start to forget tasks, make errors, or struggle to focus. You’re dropping balls left and right, underperforming at work or in other areas of your life, and starting to feel like a loser. But, in reality only a superhuman can do it all and always with perfection, which none of us are.
